The Cooperative Education (Co-op) and Internship (Intern) Program is designed to provide students with hands-on, career-related experience and exposure to skills required for successful development as a professional in their related field of study. The learning experience allows students to transfer theoretical knowledge to practice and apply skills learned in the classroom in an actual work-related setting. This experience is expected to substantially broaden students’ academic training by exposing them to practical experiences and realities of the professional world. Students will have the opportunity to reflect upon those experiences within an academic context. In addition, students will develop a relationship with a company/organization which may result in being a potential full-time employer or serve as an employment referral source for subsequent professional job opportunities.
